Worthy Brother Knights:

St Rita in the Desert Council 14230, is pleased to host the 113th Annual Knights of Columbus Convention.  This year’s convention will be held May 15 - 16, 2020 at the El Conquistador Tucson located at: 10000 North Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85704.

Hotel reservations can only be made directly with the hotel, either online or by phone.  In order to reserve the rooms for convention attendees, once you have registered, you will be shown the link on the confirmation page and your confirmation email will also include a link at the bottom of the email to the hotels reservation page.  You can also click the "Hotel Reservations" button on the right side of any webpage for all the details.  Room rates are guaranteed through April 25, 2020 at 5:00 PM  and are applicable three days before and three days after the convention based on availability. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a space‐available basis at a non-discounted rate.

Hospitality Suites  are available, but limited; these suites may not be booked directly through the hotel.  To reserve hospitality suites contact Hotel Liaison, Natalie Rogers at 520-544-1117 or (info@azkofcstateconvention.org) for assistance.

Registration for the convention is required for all who attend (YOU MUST BE A 3RD DEGREE KNIGHT TO ATTEND ANY PORTION OF THE CONVENTION).  In addition, if you are attending the convention as a Delegate or Alternate, your Council must submit the Delegate Form to the State Secretary no later than April 3, 2020.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR DELEGATES: If you are a Delegate or Alternate you still MUST register for the Convention in addition to submitting the Delegate form from your Council.  Your Council DOES NOT register for you!

The preferred method to register  for the Convention is online (click on "Registration" button found on right side of any webpage), where you may pay by credit card online or by mailing in a check.  If registering online and paying by check,  make payable to: K of C 2020 Convention, and mail to:

All registrations and payments must be received by Friday, May 1, 2020.  Registrations received later than this date will be assessed an additional $10.00 fee for late processing.  Late registrations place an additional burden on the host Council and the hotel to ensure that there are sufficient seating and meals for all in attendance.  Credit card payments must be made directly on the website.

Polo shirts  commemorating the 2020 Convention can be pre-ordered, either online or on the paper form.  Make certain to indicate the size desired.  Commemorative shirts may also be ordered at the convention, but at a higher cost to cover shipment.

On Friday, all Bishops, Priests, Council Chaplains, Assembly Friars and Deacons are invited to take part in the Opening Mass  of the convention.  Councils and Assemblies are urged to invite your Council Chaplains, Assembly Friars, Parish Priests and Deacons to attend these events.  Councils and Assemblies should reimburse / pay for any expenses incurred by travel, meals and lodging.

Friday’s State Program Award Dinner - More information to be announced.

Saturday’s Ladies Luncheon will begin at 11:30 AM.  The theme will be "Notable Catholic Women of the 20th Century."  We are excited to welcome guest speakers from our sponsored charities:  "Youth On Their Own" and "Beads of Courage."  All in attendance will receive a door prize ticket included with the cost of the lunch.  During the lunch program, additional tickets will be sold for chances to win gift baskets raffled off to attendees.  All proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will go to our two charities.

Advertising in the Convention Program  is a great way to support convention activities, show support for our State Officers and our Annual Convention.  We ask all Councils and Assemblies to place an advertisement in the program.  All advertising information can be found by clicking the "Buy Advertising" button on the right side of any webpage.  Advertising must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on April 17, 2020.
